The nurse at the Dr. Rotenburg's (Leahness' neurologist) called Thursday. I still am shocked to the core when I type the words Leahness and neurologist in the same sentence. Surreal just seems to be the prevalent word in this mommy's world these days. Anywho...the MRI was completely normal. I really don't know what that means except we now know it isn't cancer...PRAISE GOD! My paternal grandmother died of brain cancer, so this was a definite and real-founded fear for me. We are still set to meet with the doc April 9th. I guess that's when we will find out what normal means and where we are to go from here. Lord knows I really don't know what "normal" is...a complete foreign concept for me.

She still has some of her blackouts lasting about 5-10 seconds occasionally. Although she did have one 3 days in a row. Though these are tough to see, they pale in comparison to the jerking kind. I've been keeping a journal of when they happen and what we are doing when they happen. They seem to be happening at points when she is in a state of joy or excitement. For instance, she had one when we were decorating Easter eggs, and again when we walked into Walmart....oh how she LOVES Walmart. So I'm hoping if a pattern emerges, we can figure out something...I don't know what...but something. For now, it's all about prayer, prayer, and more prayer. I'm learning with a huge helping of God's grace to take all of this as God's will. That good can come of this and is an opportunity to grow in His Love by this.

I will post more about Easter with picture tomorrow. I still need to download the pictures.

God Made...

I am always saying things to Leahness like, "Isn't it a beautiful day, look at the sky God made for us today!" The other day on one of our frequents to Walmart, she was going on and on about what God made. These are the things God made according to Leahness Pinilla:
  • God made the sky (yeah, we all know that!)
  • God made our car
  • God made Woody (one of Nana's cats)
  • God made Dada
  • God made Shrek (yeah, in His own way, He did indeed!)
  • God made Walmart! (well, it is divine in her eyes after all)
  • God made Spiderman vitamins (under debate)

This went on and on while I agreed and giggled under my breath; she can't stand it if she is being serious and you start to laugh. Her innocence is something I am embracing and trying to nurture daily. It won't be long before her attitude changes about the world. It is hard to realize her world will someday be full of so much disappointment. That is why at this point I'm proud that my little girl knows God and His promises. She knows God gave to her all that she loves and hold dear...yes, she holds her Spiderman vitamins dear to her heart. I pray that she can keep these innocents in her heart throughout her life.
