An Amazing Trip

Quick blog about our Fabulous trip to Michigan before I'm out of the office for the day. We had an amazing time sharing the union of my dear cousin Andrew and his new bride Clare. It was like a family reunion at the same time. Tons of family and friends were there I hadn't seen in ages and I was able to visit with all of them. Leahness looked idyllic in her luscious Oilily dress. She was fairly serious the entire trip though. She was looking forward to it for so long that it frightened her that it was actually happening. She was shy and coy. She even let a handful of the family know what she is capable of, temper-wise, the day after the wedding by a stream near my Uncle's house. She had a small seizure and because she was having so much fun, it angered her to no end. It was completely embarrassing. I had to drag her kicking and screaming (well screaming is really a drastic understatement) all the way through my Uncle's beautifully tranquil neighborhood. She has this yelp that sounds like she is being beaten to death! I kept wondering what they were thinking. When we got back to the house, all I could do was weep. I fell apart completely. I hated it, but all the might in me fell down around my ankles! I don't know if it was because I was around family or what...but I usually keep my composure when these things happen....and they have happen A LOT!

There were priceless moments on this trip. Laughter I forgot existed. Laughter that can only be experienced with the people I have been blessed to have in my life. I forgot how many wonderful people I have in my life and I will do better from now on to remember. I was home. I was were I was born and bred. It felt really really good. I remembered too who I was. I was reminded who I was. I remembered what my dreams used to be and who I wanted to be at this point in my life. I was glad to share all of that with Leahness. This was her second trip to Michigan and she fit right in both times.
